Induction Training and Support Programs for RPGs

At UST, Teaching Assistants (TAs) have an important role to play in the overall teaching effort. Their duties vary across departments and they all demand considerable skills and knowledge. In order to accommodate their needs, each year at the beginning of Fall semester, CELT offers new TAs with induction training for them to get prepare for their TA duties. Also, a regular series of professional development workshops for research postgraduate are offered to equip them with research and career skills which enhance their lifelong employability.

Why participate in the TA Training?

  • Introduce the basic teaching skills to newly arrived TAs to facilitate their first teaching in UST
  • Improve the teaching skills of existing TAs for better quality of undergraduate education
  • Enhance the professional development of TAs and better socialize them into the lifelong career development
  • Foster and enhance relationships between faculty and TAs who share similar disciplinary and teaching pedagogical interests
