We are excited to announce the launch of a new self-study online course series on Generative AI and Education. This course series aims to enhance your teaching skills and help you stay ahead in the Gen AI era. The series includes the following three courses:
GENAI-001 | Introduction to Generative AI and Education
Acquire a comprehensive understanding of what Generative AI involves and how these tools bring about opportunities and challenges in the field of education.
GENAI-002 | Prompt Engineering for Generative AI in Education
Identify the capabilities of Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, and comprehend their responses to instructions. This knowledge will enable the crafting of effective prompts. The course will include an analysis of prompt examples and an evaluation of how the use of generative AI tools can enhance metacognitive skills.
GENAI-003 | AI-Enhanced Assessment: Frameworks and Guidelines for Innovative Design and Practice
Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the implications of Generative AI on assessment design, encompassing ethical, equity, pedagogical shifts, the balance of authenticity and efficiency, and the evolving roles of educators in an AI-integrated educational landscape.
Upon successful completion of these courses, you will earn micro-credentials in the form of online badges. These will be issued by the Academy of Education Excellence (AEE) at HKUST, a fellowship scheme that is currently under development. The AEE aims to foster teaching excellence at HKUST, and earning micro-credentials will be a key component for faculty members to become an AEE Fellow once the program is fully functional. More information on the AEE fellowship scheme will be announced by CEI at a later date.
